In compliance with the 2019-2023 Business Plan, the FS Italiane Group has launched a series of actions for the redistribution of tourist flows and for improved accessibility to art cities and holiday destinations, enhancing the country’s image along with the cultural and landscape heritage.
It is estimated that in 2030, the number of people travelling around the world will increase from over 1.4 billion today to 2 billion. Most of these tourists will choose Italy, with a growth in flows expected especially from Asia. Italy is fifth in the world for the number of tourists with about 60 million international arrivals in 2018 and a forecast of about 75 million trips from abroad in 2023.
In order to meet the renewed needs of people’s mobility and travel planning, the FS Italiane Group is increasingly advancing its role as a point of reference for the national tourism ecosystem. As a player able to facilitate connections between the country’s three ports of access (airports, railway stations, ports), the Group is able to further support the Italian economic system’s economic growth.
This new company will propose a range of rail services designed and calibrated for quality, with sustainable tourism that seeks to rediscover the riches of the Italian territory. At the helm of the company are Alessandro Vannini Scatoli as Chair and Luigi Cantamessa as Chief Executive Officer
