The recent accelerations in favour of decisive action against climate change have led to paying increasing attention not only to the quantity but also the quality of the energy used by organisations in their activities. The transport sector contributes about a quarter of global emissions. Its necessary decarbonisation must take place through synergy between the various modes of transport, preferring the most sustainable, such as collective, shared and low-impact.
In accordance with this scenario, the FS Italiane Group has set off on a path of carbon neutrality also leaning towards rebalancing the sector, today strongly unbalanced in favour of cars and trucks.
With the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Report, FS Italiane intends to provide an in-depth study on the management of matters of energy and greenhouse gas emissions, illustrating strategies, actions and performance pertaining to 2022.
