Produced entirely in Italy thanks to a partnership between AnsaldoBreda and Bombardier, the first ETR 1000 left the Pistoia workshop in March 2013, and entered service in the summer of 2014. In June 2017, Trenitalia presented the double Frecciarossa 1000: a solution that doubles the number of seats available for travellers.
