Frecciarosa 2024 in Sicily: breast cancer prevention travels by Intercity train between Palermo and Messina

Messina, 25 October 2024 - Frecciarosa 2024 travels also on Sicilian trains. On Monday 28 October the ICN 1964 train departing from Palermo at 12.58 and arriving in Messina at 16.20 and the IC 729 train departing from Messina at 19.50 and arriving in Palermo at 22.50 will be involved in the initiative, with stops at Termini Imerese, Cefalù, S. Agata di Militello, Capo d'Orlando-Naso, Patti-S. Piero Patti, Barcellona-Castroreale, Milazzo.

On board the trains, volunteers from the IncontraDonna Foundation and doctors made available by the Italian Association of Medical Oncology will provide free counselling and distribute information material, including the 'Health Vademecum, drawn up in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This ABC of prevention contains healthy lifestyle advice useful to the entire population, both travelling and not, and its digital version can be downloaded in Italian and English.

In addition, this year, remote consultations to receive medical clarifications, suggestions and indications may also be booked on the 'Frecciarosa.it' platform, with necessary follow up in a SSN (National Healthcare System) facility.

Frecciarosa 2024 is the breast cancer prevention campaign promoted by the IncontraDonna Foundation and FS Group under the patronage of the Ministry of Health: for the entire month of October, it will provide consultations on board High-speed, Intercity and Regional trains.

The FS Group, sensitive to initiatives in the health field, renewed its support to the Frecciarosa project, by offering citizens and travellers a service to protect their health, in the awareness that a real fight against oncological diseases and breast cancer in particular can only pass through correct information and systematic prevention.
