2 November 2023 – Bluferries, a Ferrovie dello Stato group company that ferries passengers and vehicles across the Strait of Messina, joins the Logistics Hub.
The transaction, in line with the 2022-2032 Industrial Plan of the Group led by CEO Luigi Ferraris, took place through a deed of de-merger with the assignment of the shares representing the entire share capital of Bluferries from Rete Ferroviaria Italiana in favour of Mercitalia Logistics.
The lead company of the Logistics Hub thus becomes the sole shareholder and will also carry out direction and coordination activities, which will allow for greater sea-rail-road integration with a view to developing traffic in support of the local economy. The employment level of the maritime operator, which today consists of more than 170 people, remains safeguarded.
