Trenitalia as Official Green Carrier of the Milan-Turin route

The FS Italiane Group is once again getting behind great cycling, from the Giro d’Italia 2022 to the other great national classics. The Milan-Turin cycle race sets off tomorrow.

For the third consecutive year, the FS Italiane Group is supporting the great Italian cycling season.

Indeed, Trenitalia is the Official Green Carrier of the Milan-Turin cycling race, now in its 103rd year.  The race will anticipate the Milano-Sanremo by three days, as was the case at the beginning of its extensive history. It all sets off in Magenta (Milan) and finishes in Rivoli (Turin) after 199 kilometres, with a route best suited to sprinters.

The virtuous union between Gruppo FS Italiane and great cycling will continue with the classics that two-wheeler lovers would not miss for the world: the Giro di Sicilia from 12 to 15 April followed by the Gran Piemonte and Il Lombardia on 7 and 8 October. The most eagerly-awaited date, however, is undoubtedly 6 May, when the 105th Giro d’Italia kicks off. The starting point will be in Budapest. It will then take four days for the race to reach Italy, in Avola, near Syracuse. On 10 May, the Giro-E – the electric bike race that follows part of the same route as the Giro d’Italia – will also be inaugurated, just a few hours ahead of the professional athletes.

Trenitalia will be present in all Giro d’Italia villages, with a stand in the departure and arrival areas of the various legs. The company will even take part with its own e-bike team in the Giro-E, in which it is again sponsoring the Ride Green Jersey, awarded to the winner/leader of the Team Time Trial Classification.

Once again, the FS Italiane Group confirms its affinity with the world of sport which, in the case of road cycling, also translates into an enhancement of the territory. Indeed, both the bicycle and train lead in the same direction – they allow you to discover the evocative attractions in which Italy is extremely rich, in a way that is not only comfortable and pleasant but also sustainable, being mindful of the environment.
