FS Italiane and Legambiente take innovation and sustainability to Apulia with Treno Verde 2019

Bari the second stop from 22 to 24 February

Bari, 22 February 2019

The FS Italiane and Legambiente Treno Verde has arrived in Apulia.

The green grain is stopping in Bari taking with it zero emission mobility, sustainability and innovation.

Innovative technologies, the central theme of this edition of the Treno Verde along with respect for the environment and intermodality, are the ideal tool to improve the sustainability of industrial processes and guarantee an increasingly green future to the new generations.

In the regional capital, Psykoboard, a start-up dedicated to smart mobility, is presenting its projects: it has patented an electric skateboard in carbon fibre, built by hand with system used in aeronautics. Psykoboard's goal is to combine a passion for skateboarding with urban mobility, to reduce stress arising from city traffic and also respect the environment.

The mobility of the future necessarily involves sustainability, as proved by the best practices from Apulia that received awards during the inaugural morning of the stop in Bari.

From 22 to 24 February, students, young people and families will be able to visit the educational and interactive exhibition set up within the four carriages. The train, that returns to the tracks every year in Italy, aims to raise awareness in the population about electric, light, shared mobility that can improve quality of life in large urban centres.

Treno Verde is a campaign of FS Italiane Group and Legambiente, with the patronage by the Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection, which, over 12 stops, from Palermo to Milan, will display sustainable, intermodal and electric mobility, starting from public transport and shared mobility.
