A scientific cooperation agreement has been signed with Politecnico di Milano University

The signing aims at developing the integrated collective mobility of the future

On 22 September 2017 in Milan, a cooperation and research agreement was signed between Politecnico di Milano University and the FS Italiane Group. Future activities under the collaboration will mainly focus on research and teaching on transport and integrated mobility. The formal announcement of the agreement at the Aula Magna of the University was attended by Renato Mazzoncini, and Professor Ferruccio Resta, University's Dean.

Specifically, the two-year collaboration that aims to promote scientific and technological research in our country includes: joint training and orientation activities for university students; partnerships for studies and research on subjects of mutual interest; organisation of conferences, debates and seminars; and development of strategic projects dedicated to innovative technologies, also with the involvement of the FS Italiane Group companies.

As Renato Mazzoncini commented, the agreement is "part of the wide programme of initiatives that the FS Italiane Group promotes, in collaboration with leading Italian universities, in order to help students develop the core skills and innovative vision needed both for entering the workplace and bringing the major changes needed to improve the system of collective mobility".

At the same event, the "Mobility: infrastructure and services" subject was also introduced, for students on the electrical and mechanical engineering Master's degree program that will start in the 2017-2018 academic year.

The course was opened at the Bovisa Campus with an introductory keynote lecture by Renato Mazzoncini, Course Director, who explained to the students the strategies and objectives of the FS Italiane Group in Italy, which is using the 2017-2026 Industrial Plan to transform itself from a large Italian railway company into a major European player in the integrated collective mobility sector.
