Freccialink is born: the Trenitalia High Speed link reaches Siena, Perugia, L’Aquila, Matera and Potenza.
Today, the road show begins: its debut is in Siena, and the new service will be presented in the other cities during the coming days.
Thanks to an integrated bus plus Frecce AV service, from June 12th, with the new railway timetable, a further five towns are much nearer to Bologna, Milan, Rome, Naples, Salerno, Padua and Venice.
Comfort and speed are the advantages offered by Trenitalia’s Frecce service.
Four Freccialink trains a day, two leaving and two arriving, will join the five cities with the nearest AV station where customers will be met and assisted by Trenitalia staff and escorted to the Frecciarossa, destination: Bologna, Milan, Rome, Naples, Salerno, Padua and Venice.
A special 16-seater coach will be recognisable by the special logo and coating of Frecciarossa.
The whole trip will be characterised by Frecciarossa’s bonus service: dedicated staff, assistance, Wi-Fi, drinks with on-board monitors also on the coach.
The timetable has been designed to ensure adequate transfer times from the coach to the train and vice versa.
The widespread Frecce Trenitalia offer will allow easily re-routing customers in case of delays or setbacks during the road trip.
An opportunity for the people living in these cities, who travel for business or pleasure; an opportunity for the town, which becomes part of the network of the regional capitals served by the High Speed system and can therefore begin to benefit directly from a fast, comfortable and widespread service network which, in just a few years, has revolutionised the way of life of millions of Italians, stimulated the flow of tourists, given impetus to economic and trade activities.
The first city to experience the Freccialink is Siena, where the new service was presented by Trenitalia’s CEO Barbara Morgante together with the mayor Bruno Valentini this morning.
The two trips from Siena will leave at 07:20 and 16:20 from the train station in Piazza Rosselli, for Florence Santa Maria Novella, where travellers can continue on board the Frecciarossa to Bologna, Milan, Rome and Naples.
From the afternoon they will also include Padua and Venice.
Arrivals in Siena, still with the special Freccialink coach, are scheduled at 10:35 and at 20:35, leaving Milan, Bologna, Rome and Naples.

Tickets for Siena-Bologna and Siena-Milan are already on sale on all Trenitalia’s commercial channels, from the ticket offices to Trenitalia’s website or its App.
A single ticket, whose price will be determined by your choice for the Frecciarossa departing from or arriving in Florence SMN: class or level of service (First and Second Standard, Premium, Business, Executive) and type of ticket (Basic, Economy, Supereconomy), plus 10 euro, the fixed price for the bus trip, which cannot in any case be sold separately.
