Milan, 18 November 2016

The CEO of FS, Renato Mazzoncini, met students from the Università Cattolica in Milan yesterday as part of “#ADesempio, i grandi manager si raccontano” (where big managers come in to talk to students).

During his speech, lasting around 40 minutes, Mr Mazzoncini looked back over the key points of his professional career and answered participants’ questions.

Students had the chance to discover what the main ingredients are for professional growth according to the CEO of FS: having a dream, curiosity, ethics, expertise and a little bit of luck.

Mr Mazzoncini then focused on the need for efficient, better public transport for everyone: for FS Italiane, the customer is at the heart of the public transport system. Road and rail should be efficiently integrated.

In the second part of the meeting, the CEO of FS Italiane, answered questions from students on the future merger with Anas and the listing on the stock exchange.

Mr Mazzoncini explained that the merger has been conceived because it deals with another mobility infrastructure: the future lies in the integration between road and rail, while by being listed on the stock exchange the company can compete more effectively in Europe on liberalised markets.

The meeting drew to a close by talking about digital investment, which is required to create a unique travel experience among all transport operators and serves as the main pillar of the FS Italiane Group’s ten-year Industrial Plan.
