Rome, 25 May 2015

Ancient Romans “march” to Expo Milano 2015.

Representatives from ancient Rome organised by “Gruppo Storico Romano” participated in this event, departing on the highly-modern Frecciarossa train from Termini station in Rome at 10.05am this morning.

This group includes an Emperor, senators, gladiators and dancers and will give lots of passengers the chance to admire costumes from ancient Rome styled to the originals and to watch shows and performances that faithfully reproduce customs and traditions from this era.

At 1.55pm the “Gruppo Storico Romano” will parade along the Decumano – one of the two main roads on which the Expo Milano 2015 site has been built – towards the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Pavilion (Expo partner 1, Pavilion 112) where FS Italiane CEO Michele Mario Elia and Expo 2015 S.p.A. CEO and Sole Government Commissioner for Expo Milano 2015 Giuseppe Sala will present the exhibition entitled MovEat Expo “The routes of food: from ancient Rome to modern Europe” to guests and the press.

MovEat Expo is an initiative deriving from an idea by Andrea Schiavo under the scientific direction of “Soprintendenza speciale per il Colosseo e il Museo nazionale Romano e l’area archeologica di Roma” (Special Authority for the Colosseum, the National Roman Museum and the Archaeological Area of Rome).
