The project includes the construction of two new interchange stops for Pigneto and Mandrione between the regional lines of Orte-Roma-Fiumicino Aeroporto (FL1), Roma-Viterbo (FL3), Roma-Castelli (FL4), Roma-Cassino (FL6) and Line C of the Rome underground. The new junction will serve passengers travelling to and from the capital on a daily basis.

Vincenzo Macello was appointed Extraordinary Governmental Commissioner for completion of the works.
