FS Group communication campaign on planned construction sites in 2025 kicks off

Rome, 10 February 2025

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Group) information and communication campaign on the construction sites planned for 2025 has begun. The campaign provides the relevant info to passengers at the stations, through social and traditional media, and the FS Group website, also through a dedicated section. "We are working on the railway network for a more efficient and technological mobility" is the claim of the campaign, designed to raise awareness on the benefits resulting from the planned infrastructure works, which will ensure a higher quality of service in terms of performance and punctuality.

The aim of the campaign is to reach citizen in a timely and widespread manner. A QR-Code linked web page shows progress on the works under way, and useful information for planning a journey in the event of line interruptions.

Italy is transforming itself, and is doing so with an unprecedented extraordinary modernisation plan. At the construction sites, many teams of engineers and technicians are working to prepare the network of the future. The NRRP challenge is the focus of attention, and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana has already invested more than EUR 10 billion out of the approximately EUR 22 billion included in the plan to build infrastructure and works never seen before.

In detail, the campaign has already addressed the disruptions in Lazio, the HS Rome-Florence line, the Adriatic line and the Tyrrhenian line. And on the last days, it is reaching out to passengers in the Liguria region, where the campaign focuses on the Genoa Junction lines upgrades to separate regional and metropolitan traffic from long-distance and freight traffic, with the possibility of increasing train frequency. While in Lombardy, the campaign targets the infrastructural and technological enhancement of freight corridors along international routes, the reconfiguration of the Bergamo Junction, and the renovation of some stations.

The works have been planned down to the last detail to minimise issues and maximise long-term benefits for everyone.
