North Bari Railway junction

North Bari Railway junction

The intervention consists of the decommissioning of the current route and the simultaneous construction of a new double-track and electrified railway route, for a length of approximately 11 km mainly in deep trenches and artificial tunnels, between the service locations of Giovinazzo and Bari North Park. Furthermore, the construction of a new Santo Spirito station is planned, equipped with a passenger building and related interchange car park, to replace the current service locations of Bari Palese and Bari Santo Spirito.

The intervention will make possible to mitigate interference with highly urbanized areas, through the suppression of all level crossings, improving the quality and regularity standards of the commercial offer.

The Bari Nord Railway Junction work is currently in the planning phase. The complete timetable of the works is conditional on the financial coverage of the construction phase.
