Gruppo FS Italiane’s chief executive, Renato Mazzoncini, was appointed member of the Management Committee of CER, the Community of European Railways and Infrastructure Companies.
During the day, CER’s General Assembly also debated on the Fourth Railway Package, on railway digitalization, on security and terrorism, and on noise pollution.
CER represents before the various European institutions the interests of its 70 members that cover 73% of the European railway infrastructure, 80% of European railway freight and 96% of European passenger transport.
CER’s work is aimed, in particular, at improving the conditions for development and the regulatory framework of the railway business.
