Arson at Firenze Rovezzano: full refund for those who decide to cancel their trip

Rail traffic on the North-South axis is experiencing delays of 180 minutes on average and up to 240 minutes

Full refund for train passengers who experienced today a delay exceeding 180 minutes. In the case of delays between 120 and 180 minutes, passengers are entitled to receive a refund of 25% and 50% respectively, in compliance with the European laws.

Full refunds for high-speed train and medium-long distance passengers who cancel their trip or who were affected by the suspension of rail traffic, with delays and cancellations, following the fire that was deliberately started by persons yet unknown near the Rovezzano station, on the Rome-Florence line.

Passengers can request a full refund of their ticket either at Trenitalia ticket offices or online on the trenitalia.com website. Those who chose to change their travel date can do so at ticket offices or at customer service desks in stations, regardless of the fare they had initially purchased.

At present average delays on the North-South routes are 180 minutes, with peaks of up to 240 minutes.

So far 30 high speed Trenitalia trains have been cancelled.

Regional traffic, especially in Tuscany and in the main city hubs, is also experiencing delays and cancellations. Passengers who cancel their trips on regional trains are eligible for a full refund, in accordance with EU regulations.

Trenitalia have made an additional 250 customer service personnel available, both on board trains and in stations, especially at Napoli Centrale, Roma Termini, Roma Tiburtina, Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Bologna Centrale, Milano Centrale, Torino Porta Nuova, Brescia and Venezia Santa Lucia.
