Le Marche and its beauties are at the heart of the Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) summer season.

Presented was “Le Marche in Treno” (“Le Marche by Train”), one of the Guides in the new series “I Regionali da Vivere” published by Giunti Editore and Trenitalia, dedicated to the discovery of Italy aboard Regional trains.

A range of tourist destinations in the region of Le Marche sees the train as the common thread uniting and making them easier to reach, thanks to the increase in services presented in Trenitalia’s summer timetable.

There to illustrate the contents, this morning in Palazzo della Regione Marche in Ancona, were Guido Castelli, Councillor for Transport for the Region of Le Marche, Sabrina De Filippis, Director of Trenitalia’s Regional Division and Marco Bolasco, Director of the Non-fiction division of Giunti Editore.

Also present were Fausto Del Rosso, Regional Director of Trenitalia Marche and Francesco Zamichieli, Director of Special Initiatives for Giunti Editore.

The event was also an opportunity to announce the entry into operation of the Board Support app and that from today, 2 additional new Rock trains are in circulation, bringing the latest-model regional trains travelling in Le Marche to 24, as also envisaged by the Service Contract signed by the Region of Le Marche and Trenitalia, which envisages investments of 300 million euro, of which 206 million euro is dedicated to the renewal of regional trains.

The innovations

With the Piceno Line, history and the sea are within reach by train, offering a new opportunity to discover the region of Le Marche aboard one of the 15 trains that will connect directly to San Benedetto del Tronto and Ascoli Piceno each Saturday, Sunday and public holiday in just 40 minutes.

The Urbino Link, in collaboration with Adriabus, is an intermodal train + bus connection reaching the city of Urbino. Each day, 58 connections and a single ticket allow passengers to comfortably discover the birthplace of Raphael and the beauties of its historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

The confirmations

With the Marche Line, the weekend train from Piacenza to San Benedetto del Tronto reaches all the main seaside resorts in the region of Le Marche, with a 50% discount on the return ticket.

The Conero Link and the Fermo Link offer train + bus services to reach the splendid beaches of the Baia di Portonovo and the charming city of Fermo, with a single ticket.

To get to the pearl of Monte Conero, 43 trips are offered each day, shuttling between the Ancona Centrale station and the characteristic Piazzetta di Portonovo. To reach the city of Fermo, rather, 99 buses travel round-trip, departing from the Porto San Giorgio train station every weekday. This is all with particularly favourable connection times, respect for the environment and without the stress of city traffic.

In all the bathing establishments that have joined the initiative, regional Trenitalia customers can enjoy a 10% discount on services and food, for a summer by train that is even better value.
