Trenitalia as Official Green Carrier of Eurochocolate 2021

Discounts at the Festival for those who reach the event by regional trains

Perugia, 13 October 2021

Trenitalia is confirmed as the Official Green Carrier of Eurochocolate also for the 2021 edition, set to be held from 15 to 24 October.

The international chocolate festival returns, after the pause linked to the pandemic, exceptionally hosted at the Centro Umbriafiere in Bastia Umbra. Destined to remain one-of-a-kind, to populate the streets of Perugia as early as 2022, this special indoor edition will be accompanied by a series of flanking events, which will offer opportunities to travel even towards the capital.

The collaboration between Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) and the event – one of the best known in Umbria – is now consolidated with a view to promoting sustainable mobility in the Italian region that stands out as a purely green destination.

Those who use the train to reach the Green Heart of Italy and attend the Chocolate Festival will be able to purchase entry tickets at a cost of 9 euro instead of 10, accompanied by delicious gifts. They will also benefit from a 10% discount on their first purchase at the “Costruttori di Dolcezze” stand.

There are up to 45 regional Trenitalia services per day serving Assisi, with some 40 of those stopping at Bastia. For example, for a Sunday visit to Eurochocolate, depart at 8:15 am from Roma Termini with arrival in Assisi at 10:29 am, to then return from Assisi at 6:38 pm with arrival in Rome at 8:46 pm. Otherwise, depart from Florence at 8:02 am with arrival at 10.41 am, to then return from Assisi at 5:21 pm with arrival in Florence at 7:54.

To take advantage of the promotions, simply present to the ticket office your train ticket bearing the destination of Perugia, Assisi or Bastia and valid for the same day as the visit to the event. Alternatively, show a valid regional and superregional Trenitalia pass, whose origin or destination is any station in Umbria.

Those who alight at the Bastia station can reach Eurochocolate on foot, walking around 15 minutes through the “Pieditour”, a guided tour with themed illustrative panels, or by catching the “Choco Train”, a free electric train shuttling between Piazza Mazzini and the exhibition centre. Furthermore, on Saturdays and Sundays, traditionally the most popular days, Eurochocolate provides shuttle buses to connect the railway station of Assisi and Umbriafiere.
