FS Italiane at the States General “New” World of Work

The Innovation Manager set to transform the businesses

27 April 2021

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane is taking part in the first edition of the States General “New” World of Work: from 28 to 30 April, a series of online meetings will focus on digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, smart-working and new skills required by the world of work, in discussions between large companies, start-ups and universities.

Focus will turn to innovation on 28 April from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with the panel Skills of the Future: the role of the Innovation Manager in support of corporate changes, in which Franco Stivali, Head of Innovation for the FS Group, will participate along with Giampiero Astuti, Group HR, Organisation and Systems Digital Transformation Project Leader of Webuild S.p.A., Andrea Billi, Director of Sapienza Innovazione, Antonio Carcaterra, President of Sapienza Innovazione, Giorgio Ramenghi, CEO Office, Innovation Hub Windtre, and Paolo Sandri, Head of the Innovation Office of the Italian Army.

Franco Stivali will talk about the role of the Innovation Manager, today called upon not only to lead the development of new technologies and new products but also to support the processes of change for the company and its employees. The real challenge of the future for this figure will, in fact, be the ability to transform a company that “generates innovation” into a company that “knows how to be innovative”.

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane leads this process of transformation through the open innovation approach, able to intercept new business opportunities, putting the company in relation with the innovation ecosystem that arises beyond corporate boundaries. The Innostation portal has been recently launched as the FS Group’s innovation platform where start-ups, research centres, universities, businesses and individual innovators can register and respond to challenges, calls for ideas and open innovation solutions proposed by FS. This approach forms the basis of a real cultural transformation, able to generate shared value for the world of work and for future generations, whilst increasing the FS Group’s competitiveness.
