Milan Porta Garibaldi is the main station on the domestic Centostazioni network, the first station in Milan especially for commuter traffic and the second station in Milan in terms of traffic and the number of services offered after Milan Central Station. 

Located in the heart of the modern Garibaldi – Repubblica neighbourhood, this station underwent important works by Milan Municipality and is the terminus and a railway hub of primary importance reached by short - and long - haul connections, High Speed trains, the most popular lines on the Milan Underground and on the “Passante Ferroviario”, urban and extra-urban buses and numerous roads. 

Extensive restyling and renovation recently carried out by Centostazioni, jointly funded by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Gruppo FS Italiane), have ensured that the station, accessible from Piazza Sigmund Freud, is a multi-function facility receiving tens of thousands of citizens, travellers and tourists in the heart of Milan every day.
