Roberto Mannozzi began his professional career in January 1983 as an Auditor at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. – today’s KPMG – becoming a partner in 1998. At the end of the same year, he joined Ferrovie dello Stato where, in the mid-2000s, he was called upon to cover the role of Director of Administration, Finance and Control (CFO) of the newly-formed Trenitalia SpA. In 2006, he moved to the parent company, FS SpA, where he headed the Planning and Control division until January 2008. From this time, Roberto assumed responsibility for the Administration and Budget within the Central Administration, Budget and Tax Department of which, from the end of July 2013, he was appointed as Head, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Finally, on 16 June 2021, the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane SpA’s Board of Directors appointed Roberto as the Manager in charge of the company’s accounting documents preparation pursuant to Law 262/2005 for the 2021–2023 three-year period, a position he has held continuously from August 2013 onwards.

Roberto has held and continues to hold various Board Member and Auditor positions in a range of companies and bodies, including:

  • Board Member of Netinera Deutschland GmbH (a German parent company controlled by FS SpA with some 40 subsidiaries in regional rail transport in Germany), of FSTechnology and Mercitalia Logistics SpA (of which Roberto held the position of Chair of the Board for some time), of the company TELT Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin Sas, established in February 2015 following the Italian-French intergovernmental agreement for the design, construction and management of the Turin-Lyon railway tunnel, of Centostazioni SpA, and of Eurofer (the national pension fund with capitalisation for workers of rail transport companies and similar);
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of the OIC (the Italian Accounting Standard setter, pursuant to Law no. 116/2014);
  • Statutory Auditor for Eurofima SA (an international financial company, based in Switzerland and owned by the main rail transport companies, included FS).

In June 2021, after six years as National President, Roberto was appointed Chairman of the Advisory Council of ANDAF, being the National Association of Administrative and Financial Directors, with over 1,600 members represented by the CFOs of Italian companies and groups. It is within this context that Roberto is a corporate lecturer of the “CFO Specialisation Course” organised for the past thirteen years by ANDAF and the University of Pisa. Additionally, Roberto has been a speaker for many years, both on behalf of this association and for other leading entities, FS included, at conventions and conferences on accounting, finance, corporate law and business management matters.
